Hopkins County is home to The Glema Mahr Center for the Arts -- a performing and visual arts venue with a 1,036-seat auditorium, located on the campus of Madisonville Community College.  Additionally, Hopkins County has a wide variety of outdoor festivals, art clubs, a movie theatre complex, and a host of other leisure opportunities.

   Friday Night Live
      -- Downtown street festival in Madisonville held on the second Friday in June, July and
          August.
 
   Village Arts Festival
      -- Artists from throughout Kentucky sell and demonstrate their artwork in the city of
          Hanson on the third Saturday in March. 
 
   Antique Tractor and Mule Days Festival
      -- The city of Hanson hosts this lively 2-day event featuring a parade, street fair, concert,
          and more.  Held on the first Saturday in May. 
 
   Madisonville Kidapalooza
      -- Children's festival in downtown Madisonville in October.  Activities include pumpkin 
          and face painting, stick horses, obstacle course, jump rope, Wii games, jewelry-
          making and more.
 
   Holiday Open House
      -- All the downtown buildings in Hanson are outlined in white lights while roving musicians
          entertain shopper and merchants on the second Saturday in November. 
 
   Veteran's Day Parade
      -- Madisonville hosts Kentucky's largest annual Veteran's Day Parade
